The Last of Us inspired poster 🍄‍
The main theme for this artwork was that even in a dystopian world, hope prevails. Even if pursuing it means walking a more uncertain path.
I wanted to emphasize the idea that even in dark times, it’s worth focusing on the little things that we cherish and staying true to ourselves.
The sketch doesn’t look like it, but I had a pretty clear idea from the start. Even though the fungus stressed me a bit at that point.
My sketches are usually more refined, but since this design was not as detailed in elements but texture, I kept this stage loose.
I tried to draw the stone wall as quickly as possible to keep the bricks from looking too precise.
Until adding highlights, shading, and textures, it’s always a “trust the process” situation for me. At that moment, everything comes together and the doubt disappears.
The effects phase is particularly interesting because even small experiments with colors, textures, and blending modes can make a big difference and take the mood in a different direction.
